Alisha MacIsaac

Hello! My name is Alisha, I’m a Canadian Certified Counsellor living in southern Alberta. My professional experience includes individual and couples counselling, as well as supporting parents of children with complex needs. I have worked with non-profit organizations for the past 8 years in Calgary and Airdrie, Alberta, which has shaped my passion for supporting others and given me a wide range of professional experience.

I was drawn to the field of psychology from a young age as I experienced challenges in my own life, and now am fortunate to get to use my knowledge and experiences to help people navigate their own journeys. Whether you are new to counselling or have accessed similar services before, if you are struggling with something specific or want to explore areas for development, or if you just want to learn more about therapy or yourself, I would love to connect and see if I can help you reach your goals.

Therapeutic Approaches

I believe that caring for our mental health is just as important as caring for our physical health, however I know that talking to someone about your life can be difficult. I strive to create a safe space for my clients to explore their concerns with compassion and acceptance. Everyone learns and processes differently, so I use a variety of therapeutic modalities including

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy                         Solution Focused Brief Therapy

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy                           Emotion Focused Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy             Motivational Interviewing

Depending on your hopes for therapy, we will develop a plan that is unique to you and may draw from various approaches.
